Program assessments for lab animal care and use programs

Problems like training gaps rarely show up on an audit, yet they still shape the speed and quality of the research your program supports.

ACTS assesses the program and gives you a plan for what to change first.

What the assessment covers

  • Technical competency across your animal care team
  • Staff engagement and morale
  • Management, including daily operations and leadership
  • Can include the ACTS Insights Scorecard, a confidential staff and leadership survey benchmarked against the industry
  • Where the program stands today
  • A prioritized plan
“We were very quickly approaching a crisis when we reached out and ACTS quickly mobilized support. They completed a culture assessment, provided training, and veterinary care. They were consistently insightful and supportive. Thanks to their services the workplace is healthier, and the program is stronger.”

Questions about program assessments

Who is an assessment for?

Programs dealing with turnover, morale or culture concerns, leaders preparing for change or accreditation, and institutions that want a baseline before they invest.

Is the staff survey confidential?

Yes. Scorecard responses are anonymized and managed by a third-party platform. Neither ACTS nor your institution can identify individual responses.

What happens after the assessment?

You get the findings and a plan. ACTS can carry out the plan through customized training, veterinary staffing or specialized consulting.
